996TT Spoiler Problems. Please help!

Friends,

The spoiler on my 2001 996TT is having trouble going up and down. One side won’t go up and I believe that one of the sensors in the hydraulic lift is leaking oil. Are any of you familiar with this issue and, if so, do you know the best way to go about having it fixed and the expected cost?

Thanks in advance!

Michael

I dont have a 996 turbo...but I am surprised that no one else has this problem.

I would imagine, that just as shocks on a car, these can leak or become corroded or worn and need replacement.

I am sure someone else here has experienced this....

spoiler issue

There was a post a few months earlier on this subject. I had a similar problem and the hydraulic lift mechanisms had to be replaced. According to my dealer, they can't be repaired. Good luck!

Yes what is leaking is one of the hydraulic rams, fluid is just pumped out and loses pressure and connot raise that side of the spoiler. The rams/pump assebmly would get replaced as one, including all lines ready to bolt in.
