Black wheels - painted or anodized?

I've got a black car, and I'm dead set on getting these wheels:

Black HRE 547Rs

I just think it looks so sinister. Anyway, I'm trying to decide between regular black painted which is what the wheels in the link above are, or black anodized.

I guess with the anodized you don't have to worry so much about chipping, and they are flat black compared to regular painted which are more shiny.

I'm not so concerned with chipping since I probably only drive the car 5k miles a year, and I can always get them repainted. I'm more concerned with the look of shiny versus flat black.

Anyway, does anyone have any pics of a black car with black anodized wheels? I'm just trying to picture what it looks like i.e. a shiny black painted car with flat black wheels.

If you dont mind chipping, go with painted centers...will look much better.

Look at my sig...I have powdercoated black with a gloss finish (same look as painted) and even more durable than annodized. You should be able to get annodized with a gloss finish.

Kinesis offers that finish, im sure HRE would as well.

IMO...black car with black wheels/polished lips looks incredible.

Good luck!

It depends on the look you want. I think anodized is much more racey looking. Paint can go both ways but is not as competion looking.

personally I like the anodized so much more than the painted one because it looks simpler and less shinny

its really up to you, here is my "professional" opinion:

on black cars, black painted centers look better because they match the car. if your car is any other color but black, it depends on the look you are going for, but both look good.

Thanks Peter ... I was thinking the *exact* same thing myself. On a car that was any other color besides black I would probably prefer flat black wheels, but on a shiny black car I think flat black wheels might look funny. Trying to find a pic but I'm almost positive that would be my opinion, and I think I'll go with the painted. At least I know my car will look *exactly* like the pics you posted, and I think it looks bad ***.

Agreed, On a black car black painted wheels are the way to go, other color cars other options can be considered.
