are there any major (common?) issues on these cars once they pass 50k miles?

I'll get back to you in 2018 as my car only sees 2,500 miles/year

Bought it stock in 2002 with 4,000 miles and now has 16,400 !!

Only 20K here, but was told these cars are bulletproof. My major issue would be getting bored too quickly and flipping it for another ride or PCar.

My car has 63K and the only major repair was a new transmission at about 45K under the original warranty because of a leak.

Coolant tanks have a tendancy of leaking, but I think it is age, not miles.
Some people (myself included) are changing them out as a preventative.
Clutch is probably close unless all highway miles...time to dig in it!

Jim, do you remember what the new transmission would have cost had it not been covered?

I have 46k on mine. Purchased new almost 6 years ago. Only problem was a new tranny covered under warranty at 14k. Nothing ever seems to break.

It was done by the PO. The car was a lease and always serviced where I bought it and it was in their records along with the slave cylinder and RMS done at the same time. It didnt say a price.
