JIC Cross installed!

Basically when driving at low speeds ( < 10mph), if I start turning the wheel to the right, it feels like I'm tightening a spring. Then when I turn it back to the left, I start hearing a "twangy" sound, similar to a spring being unwound or plucked. The mechanic who did the install said its the sound of the spring twisting slightly and reseating. He also mentioned that a possible solution might be an upper bearing that allows it to rotate without binding. I was told that this is common and is not really anything to worry about. But I figured I'd ask you if you had any fix for it. Thanks in advance.

I will post a thread soon on how you can set up JIC coilovers since the design is different than other brands.
Thanks for the reply Paul. I'm pretty sure the setup was done correctly.. got it done through Sol @ perfect-Power who's an authorized reseller for JIC and has installed dozens of sets. Plus, it wouldnt really make sense taking it apart and sending it in.. too much time and money involved with re-install, balance, alignment, etc.
Since its a known issue, is there any fix available or in development?

I have a 996tt coupe...should I go with the 7kg/11kg setup? what dampening settings are you Cross guys running on the street vs. track?
Thanks in advance for feedback as I have to make some decisions on my setup soon. yee-ha

7kg/11kg is a great set up for street only but if you want to hit the track once in awhile then I suggest 8kg/12kg. If you upgrade your brakes and go to track little more, then I will suggest 9kg/12kg set up. Full track set up will require more data from you and then we can determine the set up.
What size rims and tires are you guys running. I have the 19" Tech Art wheels and I thought I read another member state that he was having PASM issues after installing the JIC setup. I plan to do my suspension and I was told to go with PSS9 ... but others here are raving about the JIC which I would like to consider unless my wheel\tire setup will cause an issue.
On the other thread they were talking about PSM and not PASM. PASM will only apply to 997 models but PSM will be for both. Just like one of the member was saying, just turn it off. PSS9 can be nice set up but you can get lot more out of JIC set up. PSM light can turn on due to weight of the wheels compare to the suspension set up.
Always remember, on JIC you will get the full stoke of the dampers no matter what height but on PSS9, the closer you are to the ground then closer you are to the bump stop.
If you have any questions then feel free to ask.

For cab it will be little different on the spring rate. With JIC, always make sure the retailer knows exact data or always call us at 562-803-6122 and let us know who you are ordering through and let us know the details if you are not sure about the retailer. Not only we change spring rates for the purpose but we also change the gas pressure compare to the spring rate and the purpose.
