as someone who is looking as well, why did you pinpoint the 2003? why not 2001, 2002, 2004 etc?

i have a budget, and i believe my window for mileage and purchase price will be the best around the 03 model. plus i work for a bmw, porsche and audi franchise and will probably get it certified. i just want to know what i'm talking about with prices. thanks again.

Look in the "for sale" section on this forum and get a (modded) one from a fellow 6speeder. That would be certified enough. I saw a $70k -600Hp one the other day that I would've gotten if it wasn't that I love mine.

thanks, i know i would modify soon, that could be some great advice. i track my m3 often, because of that i realize the beating a tracked car takes. that is the only reason i am shy of a heavily modded 996. it will be a tough choice.

Your can do considerate mods to a turbo and stil have no problems whatsoever when you track the crap out of it (well except going through pads because of the weight)

I suppose it was a combination of a couple things like time of year (early February) and the fact that it was an independent dealer specializing in 5,6, and 7 series Bimmers (didn't know much about the car, really). It was in Dallas, TX. Car needed tires pretty bad so that was an immediate $1,500 there. All in all it was a great deal for me. They wanted $71K for it and I said the most I would do was $66K.....he offered $66.8K and I took it.

Don't shy away from a modded tt because of fear of abuse... Mine was bought for $71K, is a 2001 model, had 9K miles on it when I bought it and is making 600BHP, 510WHP... The car wasn't "abused" in any way that I can visibly tell.

Buy an extended warranty and have peace of mind.

Mike

that sounds like a awesome car, i know i will mod whatever i buy, so it might be smart to look for a modded one. you just dont know if they were abused or not. cant wait to get one though, gotta sell the m3 first.
thanks for the info
