on the contrary, you're right.. they can actually induce _more_ lag since it takes longer to fill the entire chamber etc...

are you guys saying that the evo headers loose power?

i am thinking about getting those....

Sharkster has a good point. Sam at the Speed Gallery cautioned me on a large Y-pipe when I told him I wanted to buy one to help reduce lag on the K24/18G set-up. He said it would increase lag, but offer better top end. That is one of the reasons I retained the stock Y-pipe and went with the B6 intercoolers on my current set-up. I chose in theory to let the pipes fill quickly and sacrifice a little top end for quicker spool. I don't know if what I did is right or wrong, but I certainly have very quick spool...

Not saying that. Basically I'm just saying the ICs by themselves without proper thought and surrounding hardware can do that and on any car. Unless you've got larger turbos, tuning etc.... and so forth then I wouldn't.

Will the 997TT OEM ICs fit the 996TT? are they close to the old GT2 ICs?
