Are your seats comfortable? mine are not!

Hey guys,
I have stock '03 seats in my car and i'm starting to hate them. I went on a 5 day road trip down the 101 WA to CA. Amazing drive, but my low back is friggin' killing me by the end of each day. It doesn't matter how I adjust the seat, can't get comfortable. Has anyone had a similar problem and switched to something better? I have sat in the "sports" seats and i'm not sure they are any better. I've also sat in the GT3 seats and they have great side support and look badass, but i'm not sure about the "*** cushion"

Any ideas?

I've got the sports in mine and after about an hour or my lower back starts to hurt. Thinking about going the GT3 route.

Markski has some very sweet looking Recaros in his car. Hopefully he'll chime in and let us know if they are easy on his back. thanks

I sat in a Cayman tonight. Those seats have all the controls of the 996 Turbo, in addition to excellent upper and lower electronically controlled bolsters. I'm going to look into getting a set of these for my car.

gt3 seats were not good for my back if you are thinking switching to them will help the situation for you.

Long trips in the turbo were never fun. I would be so ready to get out of the car after a hour or so. I couldn't imagine how uncomfortable the GT3 seats are if you were on a long trip.

GT3 seats w/custom memory foam inserts in the lumbar area (easy to do as the leather is velcroed on.)

I have the sport seats and don't find them uncomfortable at all. I haven't done any long road trips yet, though.

I had to adjust the lumbar control in my factory tt seats so that it pushes noticeably on my lower back. Do you have the adjustable lumbar seats? My longest ride so far was 2.5 hours (Mines Road and Mt Hamilton for you bay area boyz) and I didn't notice any problem at all with comfort.

this seems more like a biomechanical problem with your back and the lumbar support ideas may help more than what actual seat you use.

The stock seats w/lumbar are uncomfortable and my back would hurt after awhile, I even had the dealer check it for defect. I got a loaner Boxster and that seat looks the same but just feels better.
I think the aftermarket Recaros may be the way to go. I had one years ago and it was the most comfortable seat I sat in.
