Will anyone ever post a 9 second 1/4?

They have not put nearly as much time in their "shop car" in 3 years as some other tuners "customer cars" have had put into them in the last 2 months. Just a little food for thought.

AND before anyone trys to steal any more thunder, its John (or Master tech) who wrenches on our 996! Not a fleet of guys with a bottomless pit of parts.
Good points Luis. The attempts to minimize this tremendous accomplishment by pejoratively labeling the car a 'tuner car' are inappropriate and counterproductive. It is a car, and nothing more. In order to get ANY car into the 9s, a great deal of tuner attention and hard work is required. As Luis correctly observed, EVOMS has spent relatively little time on this car, as compared to various customer cars (e.g., Joe's car). By comparison, I suspect Proto has spent far more time on Mark's car (and separately on Scott's car), and UMWs has spent far more time on its forthcoming 4B cars, and SCARGO has spent FAR more time on Chad's car. Moreover, EVOMS has not taken the time to implement certain mods that other customer cars have (e.g., larger valves).
Take a look at all the benchmark times established by Vipers and Supras. The vast majority of these cars have strong ties/affiliations with particular tuners and, regardless of whose name appears on the pink slip, these cars are the offspring of a tuner.
Until just recently, the primary function of EVOMS' shop car was as a source to harvest miscellaneous parts for customer cars. Its remarkable that EVOMS was able to put it back together in such a successful manner.
Finally, thank you Buddy for including my car in your short list of possible 9 second candidates. However, I think my car weighs too much to go below 10. I think the next cars to go into the 9s are owned by Scott, Joe and Mark. In fact, I think Scott and Mark are likely to go deep into the 9s and, as impressive as EVOMS' accomplishment is, I suspect there are going to be very serious challenges very soon (not to mention when Chad's car and the UMWs' cars hit the pavement). This is an exciting time for 996TT owners . . . lets enjoy it . . . lets collectively celebrate these accomplishments regardless of whose name appears on the pink slip, and which tuner labored to create the beast!

Wow, it is quite amusing to see how people kiss and hug one day, and then jump on each others' throats the next, over a tuner or another or a car or another.
I have read again every post from Markski and cannot see where he might have insulted anyone, he simply mentioned that he did not have the resources that a tuner has to push the envelop further. Whether the car is a "tuner car" or not does not change anything from the run and the success, and he did not disqualify it either. Now we are questioning the "style" of the congratulations? It is very funny, but sad.
You guys should your horses a bit, and don't loose perspective over who is behind these keyboards, it is the same people who were here yesterday and supported you in private about x or y, or shared your or their successes.
Even the tuners/friends, who are the interested parties, did not behave the way you are after the shootout, and it is their business at stake, not yours, no one got personal or attacked the other. Maybe if there is a lesson to be learnt from them , this is the one?
What a shame.
p.s. Markski, you owe me big time :

From what I have seen first hand Todd Z and Todd K are both great guys and have no problems with each other. In fact during the first shootout Todd Z, Todd K and Todd K's wife were all working on my car to fix some issues.
As Jean said the rubs between the tuners probably come 10 times more from the customers than at all from the tuners themselves.
I have love for anyone improving our cars and taking them to new heights!

Guys,
I'd like to say one thing regarding the perceived "hating" that some of you are implying Mark is doing, and then I'll leave this topic alone.
Some of you that are coming at Mark for bringing up the fact that the EVOMS car is a shop car are the same people that brought up the fact that his car was stripped and "not truly comparable" to a street car...or "apples and oranges" to a true street car. Those same people have not mentioned in this thread the fact that the EVOMS car weighs considerably less than Mark's car does and no longer even has A/C!
My point? Let's not be hypocrites. This accomplishment of EVOMS is a GREAT one! It can not, and will not be taken away from them, and I'll be the first to admit that I'm happy for them and jealous at the same time. To be 100% truthful, I'm actually relieved someone finally ran in the 9's because it now takes the pressure off of me to do it when I finally get my car to the track. I'll still try to do it, but the pressure to beat my car all to hell to accomplish that goal is no longer there. That's a good thing.
However, I really hate seeing some of you come at Mark for his earlier comments when many of you guys did the exact same thing towards him in other threads. Even I have stated out loud that I believed Mark's car to be very light, and therefore difficult to directly compare it with mine…but I'm also not attacking at him for any of his comments about the EVOMS car.
The truth is, it IS a "shop" car, owned and financed by a shop...thus allowing it to have resources and parts available for it and that most private owners don't have. It's also extremely light…lighter than any other 996TT on this forum that I'm aware of. All that having been said, it is also *extremely* fast and powerful.
Do the preceding facts take away from the accomplishment? Absolutely not. But they are facts that would have (some have already) been brought up if it were a Proto car that ran the time, so there is no reason why they should not be brought up now.
Congratulations again to EVOMS. Todd, Dan and the rest of the guys….you did it! That can never be taken away from you, and I truly commend all of you for all of your hard work and dedication to our very elite community of high HP Porsches.
Cheers guys,
Scott

:With all of that being said Jean, my car is still faster than yours from 60-130 and from 100kph-200kph (contrary to your hopeful claims) Let's discuss that
