Smugster234 is infamous around these parts
I really like this mod and want to send a set of lights too but am I the only one that thinks it would look better to leave a little more silver on the round headlight housing part on the bottom. When I look at a 996 light back to back with a 997 light, if everything is black it would look too small and not recreate the look of 997 lights. Will he paint the headlight washer caps too? What's the cost for having the lights painted?

I don't think the intent is to duplicate 997 headlights. This will be a unique look that in my opinion will be an improvement and may very well take a negative and turn it into a positive

The caps are basalt black to match the car. Im going up there to dk996tt's house to steal his CGT well actually helping him get a new projector and screen for his theater room but im stoppin by the shop to grab the lights and take them over to Switzer Performance to see what they look like on the car. as long as everyone is around tomorrow i should be able to do so I will let you guys know! my car has no *** right now due to the build so no tail light pics yet! lol we are probably converting the tails to LED he is a master with lights, we talked about sanding out the inside of the lens, wet sanding and buffing to make them clear and play with led lighting making them similar to the CGT tails or somthing to that effect. we will see...

I have been looking everywhere for someone who can integrate LEDs onto the tails and NO ONE wants to touch it. I have even looked for light assembly manufacturers to make me a set... nothing. I would really appreciate it if you could share the information and I would be happy to send out my tails to your guy.

I have LED tails on my 99 Boxster.

They are on ebay at a quarter of what I paid for them 2 years ago:

I am not sure if the 986 lights and the 996 tail lights are interchangeable.

For some reason I think the car is in the shop, and thats why there are not any pictures of the lights on the car. Correct me if I am wrong.
I was thinking today that the lights would look great on a yellow or white car.

hey Gary, yeah i've seen those lights plenty and they look great. i still can't believe they only made LEDs for the Boxster, your car looks SO much better. they are not interchangeable at all with any 996 lights narrow or wide unfortunately. gotta find someone who can do them, its been a 5 month quest so far
