I just did my 1st quater mile event at Norwalk Ohio. I only got 2 runs. I am a terrible driver. I have went to the track one other time in my cobra. Raced it 5x times down the track. Best I could muster was a 13.3@110MPH 60ft 2.24. I do not street race so my experience is limited.

1st run I got a 12.3@114MPH 60ft 1.89 I missed a gear.
2nd run I got a 12.4@121MPH 60ft 2.1x Car was hopping terribly so I let up and got back in it.

As a comparison my friend drove my 03 Cobra (Still has stock exhaust) up to run against me. First time down the track he got a 12.402@107MPH.

Obviously the car with a good driver could shave 1 full second off my times.

My mods are
UMW stage 2 k16/k24 Z/C turbos w/wastegates
92 Octane tune 1.2-1.3bar My wastegates need adjusted
Fabspeed Sport Exhaust
Sportec Intake
UMW Clutch and Flywheel
UMW Headers Ported / Ceramic Coated
Forge Diverters
Evoms Hoses
Jic Cross Coilovers
Agency Power Rear control arms
19" SSR GT3 rims with yoka tires
Car is stock weight

Good trap speeds at least. With a little bit more work, you can muster up much better times!

Any videos?

Way to go! I like seeing more guys getting out to run these things in the 1/4! Norwalk is a great track, I used to run it a lot in my various Talons. Remember to stay out of the water if you're street-tired, and you should get that time down by at least a half second with some more practice.

BTW, Norwalk altitude is more around 850'.

Good luck and have fun!

I may be going to my local strip Friday night. I haven't been on a 1/4 mile track ever, either. I am sure my times won't be much better.

After having engine problems I am a bit gun shy about beating on my car. How are you guys launching? I had stability control on as well. Would it it be quicker without it?

Congrats on making your run, it is very hard to get good times on the drag strip out of these cars. Like others have said turn off the electronic nannies, stay out of the water box, lower your tire pressure, minimize the bogging or wheel hop off the line and for heavens sakes stay in the throttlle until well past the finish line.

Simple enough eh?

Congrats though on going and posting your times.
