Protomotive BluesMobile is back home in Minnesota!
This week I made the flight down to the Ozarks to pick up my 996TT that is
100% complete. I originally was going to do just the K24/18G's and Protomotive's Programming but eventually "copied" the package that Divexxtreme did (his FIRST package) and then added a larger throttle body
as well. Todd went thru the entire car from top to bottom and we replaced
all the recommended items (I believe). In addition to his "package" I also
replaced the clutch components, coolant resovoir tank, coil packs, some
solid suspension components (for future high speed events like the One
Texas Mile and Silver State Classic), complete rebuild of my transmission which had the lovely 2nd gear pop out issue, and the new Brembo 6-piston
355mm front brakes. Since I have modded (3) other Porsche 911 Turbos
prior to this, I was VERY SPECIFIC about what result I wanted. No dyno
queen; I want street drivability and something that will work well at the track as well.
My car was dynoed on Todd's DynaPack Dyno with the front diff unhooked so
he can compare (to some degree) each of the previous builds (OhioGT2, Divexxtreme and Markski). Obviously the build more similar to mine would be
Ohio GT2 except he (new guy) has Garret GT30s' not the K24/18G's
Todd spent the better part of a day mapping my car for 92 octane pump gas
(low boost setting)@ 1.1 bar. Very conservative mapping did the following:
561 RWHP and 593 RWTQ. This is thru standard Europipe S2 Quiet which
we knew would limit the results at this level. These turbos really come alive with more boost threw them so He also tuned it using gas I sent to him,
VP MS103 unleaded which is 99 Motor Octane and 103 R+M/2.
The results:
628 RWHP and 652 RWTQ @ 1.35 Bar. (this is pretty tame unleaded fuel but
is available locally to me so that is what I sent). He did 10-12 long dyno runs as this type of dyno is made for tuning due to the way it can apply and
vary loads.
I also met Joe Swaffer down there (who wore the nices crocadile shoes I have ever seen), and gave Joe a ride. I also brought my best friend who as of last week is without Carrera GT and needed some fuel running thru his body.
The car starts, runs and drives like a stocker, I have never had to restart it.
(It has custom fuel system, larger injectors, custom intake, throttle body, MAF, etc).
Its power deliver is very smooth and above 4000 RPM's feels like Jesse the
Bod Ventura just kicked me between the shoulders with his size 14 work boots
. (Todd thought it felt pretty tame).
The Knighton's are a pleasure to do business with and Cynthia's personal car is faster than ANY of our wives' cars.
Cheers and bring me some C6Z06's if you talk to any
.

Chuck, there are some rear drop links that are much more stout that
were part of a large kit that Markski had ordered. I already have Cross JIC
and H&R rear sway bars. I also have new racing Autopower cage that Proto
installed. I have GT3 seats that I will put in within one week as well.
Craig,
thanks, the car finally fits the "IT RIPS" plates, LOL !
Brad,
thanks "brother"
JWC,
It will be a fun and worthwhile adventure, really unique!
We even saw and Todd's employees captured a large Rattlesnake!!
I have it on my camera phone.
Great Product and great people, that is what make this business/hobby
fun!

Excellent! Congrats... I'm looking foward to hearing your impressions after some more seat time. Did you get the "700" kit? I'm looking to upgrade to that (700) in the fall and would love to hear some comparisons in regards to other kits out there.
