Losing weight
What are you guys doing to lighten the 996tt? Any rear deck suggestions, I wouldn't mine something wider in the rear, more aggressive, any suggestions
Any suggestions on her losing weight, let me know

My GT3 seats saved 35 lbs (total).
front drive shafts, differential, etc is also a good one (full conversion)
there is a thread on this somewhere.
Also a lightweight exhaust system (I believe Milltek is a light one) can save
up to 30 lbs. These chubby cars are hard to lighten up.
also get rid of heavy rearspoiler mechanism that goes up down and its hydraulics

Battery 15-35 lbs (see weight loss thread for details on brand)
Seats 35-70 lbs depending on the seat type
Non electric wing ~ 30 lbs
Wheels 10-30 lbs
Remove rear seats and sub woofer ~ 12 lbs
Floor mats and spare ~ 50 lbs
RWD full conversion ~70 lb
Bumper supports 20lbs front 20 lbs rear
Exhaust 30 lbs
1/4 tank gas ~55 lbs
That's about all you can do without cutting unless you gut the A/C, Carpet, Radio etc. But if you do these things alone it's minus 422 lbs at the top end and that will get you pretty close to 3000 lbs even, at that weight this car would be unstopable. I'll be there eventually. Maybe need some weight moved up front to plant the front tires.
See thread for details.

Rear wiper delete, approx 3.5-4lbs.
I switched to a Porsche sport (fat) steering wheel and
eliminated the air bag 3-4 lbs. Installed harness (for safety) to make up for
the air bag loss. Upgraded brakes are a triple bonus- weight loss, reduced
unsprung weight and reducing rotating mass 8 to 1 ratio.
Good luck with your diet, share any new found fat pockets with us.
