996 TT or 997 S

997S Sure is a lot of fun , more involving then a turbo stock to stock. Thing is , the turbo's grunt gives a smile alot of cars cannot give, well modded to me at least LOL . You need a GT2, unless part of the reason of going 997 was for interior updates!!
In my view, it all depends on what you use the car for. If you track the car, I'd go for a TT: power, engine reliability at the expense of some extra weight.
If you are looking for a daily driver or leisure driver, a nicely optioned 997S oozes build quality and nicer materials compared to a 996. You can slap as many options at 996 as you want, it's still the same dated and cheap interior build. I also think that the power delivery of the 997S is nicer for street/road driving, you may enjoy more of the car more frequently than a ballistic TT.

Before I got my x50, I drove a 06 997s with PCCB brakes.
It was a nice car, and the interior was light years more luxurious than the x50.
But, in my opinion, the car was boring. My fiancee summed it up best when she told me that the 997s was "a chick car" compared to the x50 we drove minutes before.
I would stay with the turbo.
Just my opinion though...

When I bought my TT, I was looking at Carrera S and 40th Anniversary Carreras... They're light, still make decent power, and would allow you to focus more on being a "BETTER" driver, than just hammering the throttle and outrunning everyone on the straights...
If you're just using this as a nice street car, It really doesn't matter... Keep the TT and make it more civilized or buy a carrera S. However, If you have plans of tracking it, I'd pick a Carrera S over the TT... It's much more a driver's car and won't allow you to mask your mistakes with big power... Depends on if you want to truly "BE" the fast guy at the track, or if you just want to "BE" the hero busting out great straightline speed...

Once you buy a Turbo car it is very hard to go back especially once you mod them. I started with a 1996 Eclipse 550FWHP, then purchased a 2006 EVO MR - 390AWHP and now have the 2003 996TTx50. Can't get rid of any of them. Cannot beat the kick you get when full boost hits. Got to stick with the TT.
Once you've had boost you can never go back!
Why not just pick up a 997TT?
Personally I would never go back to a m96/7 crapbox non wet sump engine after having a real GT1 derrived TT.
Kilgrt, what happened to your TT cab, stolen?
