IPD plenum and throttle body

Has anyone used IPD's 996tt plenum and there bored throttle body?

My GT2 is at Protosport getting the Protomotive 700 and I was originally going to leave the stock TB and plenum but after seeing Marty's result with this setup I decided to go the same route. The difference is Todd made Marty's Y-pipe to fit the 997na TB and my Y-pipe is made to fit my TB which is smaller. Now IPD makes a bored TB to fit the stock Y-pipe and the 75mm plenum. I'm just wondering if there is a difference between these two setups.

Thanks
Raudel

I like them very much....however they are overpriced. You can adapt a stock 997 throttle body for much less and the plenum is $40 of material for $1100. I know that R&D is expensive, but the plenum should not be more than $800-900 tops.

And yes, you need the Y pipe...more money. Of course if the new IPD TB fits the Y pipe that saves money...how much is it, and how does one contact IPD? The bottom line is that I would love to have the 75 MM throttle body and IPD/RSS plenum, they will definately increase responsiveness and add some noticeable hp. It is just that there are much more cost effective mods.

If IPD/RSS want to come down in their price a bit I will give them my credit card today (please PM if so....lol). Maybe we can convince them to do a group buy. If the numbers purchased go up the prices should be able to come down.

Raudel,

I do not know the answer but I can tell you I tried high boost today (100
octane) for the first time and the car just "Jumps"; It really feels strong!
You are going to have SO MUCH fun very soon. Maybe go with what will fit
your car (IPD). I believe Todd said the larger TB helped in the midrange mostly (had more torque than Divexxtreme's first set-up which did NOT have
the larger throttle body). Please nobody confuse Divexxtreme's current set-up to what I am comparing to.
GO for larger TB !!!

Raudel, the only thing that needs to be modified on your Y-pipe is the small section between the MAF and TB (10" of pipe) cut off and a larger piece welded on. Then you can use the 75mm TB with the larger plenum.

Have you seen the ID of the stock Y-pipe? It is VERY small (<2"). Todd's Y-pipe uses 2.5"

I agree on the group buy! If someone get one going I will be in for sure.I think if they brought there price down a bit they would for sure sell more of them making up for the cost reduction IMO.

I have both mods on my C2, wouldnt go back to stock after these two mods. Power delivery is very smooth and noticeable. And the sound that my intake makes now is even better and fuller.

Stevo,

Twin air filters are located on each side just above the intercoolers and plumbed directly to the turbo fresh air intake. The diverter valves are relocated to the intercooler and vented to the air. The MAF works with boosted air vs. fresh non-boosted air. Here is a picture of an install in process - look closely because it's a little hard to see:

Got ya John, If I remember correctly it was Craig that done that with the filter a while back, makes sense as it is geting better cool air flow.

Actually the reason is it allows for larger air intake diameter which is required on turbo's like the GT30 and 35's. The room just isn't there following the route of the factory lines. In addition it is also a far shorter route. Again allowing for more air volume.

Sean- The IPD TB is $350

Marty- Great to here all the fun you're having ... can't wait get mine running.

Don- I'm trying to see if I can get away with doing the IPD TB so I won't have to modify the Proto Y-pipe.
