Another option is to buy an extended warranty...you have a few months on the existing one, right?

I am lucky....not one prob yet (well one electrical prob on the CTT...it was actually caused by a mod that was undone and then covered under warrenty)

Balance of:

1. It is driving you crazy....sanity is worth the change.

vs

2. Better to know thy problems than invite new ones.....(not sure of the right words, so I made this up....forgot the exact phrase, forgive me)

Best of luck. If the work is warranty...keep it if after a new harness, all is well. Try to get an extended warranty on the repairs...PCNA may give 2 years on them a la the RMS issues if you push.

Flood damage vehicle that went unreported? Sounds like general moisture damage due to submersion or something of that order. Wild. Guessing that you LOVE the performance and HATE the service. If they come back after the wiring harness and etc. you'd seem hard pressed for yet more issues, ignition replaced and etc... Sometimes there's a TON of issues for one broad bbased reason. Like Markski said.... lose the car if you smell something like "water damage" or you may have yet more niggling problems that drive you mad. Owned a track car that I built from the ground up, never had a problem. Original engine before me, and the rebuild? 154,000 miles, no issues, then there was the 1998 C4S that I drove for 3+ years with zero issues, mechanical or otherwise, my Father, for whom I recently sold a Carrera, had 126,000 completely trouble-free miles. These are great cars, and durable as hell. Get another if you have to trade the 2004 away, but make sure it's a Porsche TT.
