Tire question

Need to get new tires for stock wheels,
225/40 ZR18 Fronts
295/30 ZR18 Rears

Seems choices are limited, Any thoughts appreciated, Was looking at Nitto's but dont make in the 295/30 ZR18

Looking for best dry traction without totally sacrificing wet traction

I would seriously look at the Yoko Neovas. Great tire (better than PS2s IMHO)

If price is an issue......there is a brand on TireRack that is about 55% of the big guys.....but you give up a bit....

I look at not only traction, but wear, weight (*****see this, it is quite variable), and noise. Tirerack has people rate the tires and has a table of likes/dislikes that is sort of useful. Search in the rennlist site too.

It seems I should check out Yoko's too....

Good luck.

I second what wross996TT says. The Yokohama
Advan Neova is an excellent performance tire. It's
what I compete with these days.

You can spend a lot of time on tireracks site...alot of info there. You didn't say what kind of driving you do...track time etc. But for a three season tire I'm happy with Michelin Pilot Sports. Relatively quiet on smooth roads with tire preasures in the mid 30's...crisp handling for street tires...good in the wet...no good when it gets cold...dangerous with even light snow, tread wear is high. Like you said not a lot of choices out there......I'm looking for a winter tire and not much to choose from. Some people are using all season tires...but it's my opinion 996TT needs the best summer tire you can choose to suit you.

No personal experience, but the Continentals on my M3 seemed great all around tires, not sure how they will react to the high rear weight bias.

I would also recommend the Yokohama Neova. It is a very good tire.
