Wheels scratched by the dealer
Wheels scratched by the dealer
Has anyone had their wheels scratched by the dealer? All four of my wheels have a scratch around the entire wheel.
Did your dealer paint your wheels or give you new ones?

It sounds like the scratches came from an improper mounting machine or sloppy method. If you can show that the dealership did this, they at least should pay to have them refinished. If so, and you aren't satisfied afterwards, they should buy you new ones. Of course they have to mount them correctly next time, or find a better place that will guarantee the work!
Always request that when the wheels are put on the mounting machine, that the inside of the wheel is facing up. That way, if they don't adjust the machine correctly when the arm spins around to push the tie bead in the rim, it can only scrape on the inside portion of the wheel and not the outside which is visible. My dealer did this on my brand new Kinesis wheels and abraised the outter lip on on wheel over a 4 inch segment. Not noticeable to most and they apparently saw the error of their stupid ways and either flipped the wheels or adjusted the machine properly since there was no problem on the other wheels. Needless to say I almost wanted to kill them. Had the wheels been painted it would have been noticeable. Once again, it's another example of Porsche techs being trained at Ford dealerships...Maddening!!!!
