Headers

I am contemplating on getting a set of K24 headers. Are they worth the money? Which ones do you recommend? I am looking at FVD and EVOMS

Try the k24 headers from:
http://www.maxspeed-motorsports.com/

from the pics, they look identical to the evoms headers. The quality on them is top notch.. and for the price, they can't be beat. My mechanic was actually surprised at the quality and design. Some say that maxspeed gets their stuff from the same factory as other well-known tuners.

I installed them and was pretty satisfied with the result. Noticed a slight improvement in boost buildup. But the biggest change was the sound of my turbos and exhaust. Exhaust sounds more a bit more throaty and the spoolup sound of the turbos is much more noticeable. For what I paid, it was definitely worth it.

in my opinion headers are not needed. I know tuning kits running 580 rwhp on stock headers. Port them out for under $100 and spend the rest on something else.

I think you should do a search carefully through this group's
previous posting about headers before making any move. As
I recall, the consensus among most of the experienced tuners
is that Porsche wasn't stupid to leave a lot of horsepower on
the table by putting on weak headers, and that for all stock
cars, and all tuned cars up to about 600hp, the stock headers
are just fine, and there is much to do first, elsewhere before
headers if ever. I believe RUF uses stock headers in their tuning
packages.

Another 'mad power' add-on

IMHO, they are nice pieces to hold and look at by themselves, I love
CF, but on the car, they just clash as badly as if they were plaid. I'd
get them painted body color.

i am going to be perfectly honest and say that i regret getting the evo k24 headers. i did not feel any significant gain in power, especially when you consider they cost almost 2 grand....

i did comparo runs against cars i ran before the headers and i was no faster with the headers on.

i will be selling mine. plus they hang way lower then stock headers and i have been scraping everywhere! my car is lowered but not drastically...

stock ones are more then enough in my case....

what is even stranger is how they claime over 50 hp from stage III to IV. that upgrade only consists of their k24 headers. there is absolutelly no way in hell you gain that much, period.

Unfortunately, EVO doesn't regret it.
