I believe you could call them air intakes for the engine as well.
Also if you read my post I said all 911's have their engine in the
rear not all 911's have fender air intakes!

drama....LOL....slightly funny to see peoples eyes get that WTF look when I open the hood but I have always been nice about it and say something like..."you should see the engine stuffed in the rear, let's check it out"...they love it! Next time show the burger kid and he'll be in awe!

I always try to let younger guys check out the cars, sit in them etc. I figure someone has to set them on the right track.
When I was his age I could tell you the 0-60 for just about any car and the salom numbers, and that was before the internet. Kids now a days have so much access to information it is unreal.
You should have told him it was the new civic crx and see what he said.
I had a person argue with me that my 944 turbo was a nissan 240 not a porsche.

consider getting 24's with spinners, running the exhaust FORWARD so that the gasses come out after the front wheels, THEN place neon lights under the car on both sides... then you can perhaps disconnect the RDW and juse go with the front wheels... the MCD kids will like the car better.
I get all the humor here, but heavychevy has a point. Said another way,
would Albert Einstein or Gandhi give a hoot about an intercooler.
This thread is funny, but in a very small/tight way. I think what heavychevy said has a lot of merit and we all need to thank our luck stars we were not born into slavery/an untouchable caste in India, etc.

So, I told her to call him and that if he came up to the function that I would take the time to show him the car. Well, about 10 minutes later while I was inside shmoozing with others, she came up to me and said that her son was outside in the parking lot to take me up on my offer. When I got out there this 16-17 year old boy was standing next to my car with the biggest smile I had ever seen. It looked like he was going to wet himself. He proceeds to ask a lot of very specific questions, i.e. is it an X-50, how do you like the tiptronic, have you upgraded the chip, is the color Arctic Silver or Polar Silver, etc. That put a big smile on MY face. I let him sit in the car, look at the engine and turn it on. Needless to say, this kid knew his cars and I was happy to encourage his obvious passion for our cars.
Then again, this past Monday I was at Sonic getting burgers with my wife and daughter when the kid who brought out our order mentioned how awesome the car looked and then proceeded to ask what the "big holes on the side of the car" were for. When I told him they were the intake ducts for the air-to-air intercoolers, he just looked at me with an empty stare.
By the way Buddyg, do you have any pictures of your subs that you can post?

Not P car related... but at a local gathering some old guy walks up with his kid and asks if the car has a V12 (it's a viper)... I say no it's a V10. He looks his kid square in the eye and says 'see, I told you it was fake'

I watched the guy probably twice my age pile him and his chubby kid in an old *** minivan and drive away.

Nevertheless, the air from the intakes on the fenders do not go into the engine. That air goes in the intake, cools the air flowing through the intercooler, and then out the vents on either side of your rear bumper. The air intake for the engine is through the rear deck lid (see location of air filter).
