turbo vs turbo s

Saw a Turbo S the other day and thought I knew a lot about the 911 models. What is the difference between 911 tt and 911 tts?

Sorry if this has been discussed or just a dumb question.

the S was the last of the TT 996 model year. it had as all the S last models have pretty much all the options thrown in to make it an S. That pretty much includes the X-50 package (K-24 turbos and IC's) rest is pretty much the same as an X-50. I think the PCCB's were still an option but they may have been included as well. Same tranny and suspension.

As has been said; the Turbo S is the "X50" package, renamed.

Main differences from the standard TT are the K24 turbos and GT2 intercoolers.

thanks. Now how does all this translate into horsepower and persormance. Any idea what the upgrade cost. What would it cost to upgrade my '01tt to the x50?

Thanks

X-50 option is about $17,500. You would not do that as for far less upgraded turbos and IC's and programing would be much better, much cheaper. talk to one of the tuners on this board.
Hp stock was 420hp X-50 was 450hp. Basic ECU upgrades on a nonX-50 car with a good exhaust will get you over 500hp

Tom is right. There are much better options than simpy upgrading to a X50, Bob. You only get a measly 30 HP by doing that. Probably not worth your time.
