So just threw back on some 18" hollow twists with MSPC in preperation for a possible Watkins Glen event next weekend - it's like slapping on another 20-50hp! Really amazed the difference it made in acceleration and this was with 2 passengers, 85lbs dog and a weeks worth of laundry!
Almost to a point where I'm ready to trade my 19s for 18s! Anybody else feel this way?

I'll be honest though - I love the 19" bling and the 5-6" polished lips... Predicament.

I have to say you must be imagining it...I really doubt you are getting more HP...maybe handling improved, but no more HP, unless your 19" are boat anchors.

Wayne... This also happened to me. 18's are the way to go if you want best all around performance...you will improve acceleration, braking, handling, and ride quality. I went thru a few sets of 19's before realizing that 18's is the way to go, especially with all that city driving you do.

You already have both, keep the stockers for track and the 19's for street.

Yup. Even if your 18s and 19s were the same weight, the wheel's overall rotational inertia dictates which will lead to faster acceleration; simple physics really. It's great entertainment to watch all the honda "street racers" around here with their 20" wheels. And they wonder why their Cold air intake and titanium mufflers aren't helping them pull on stock cars...

18s feel so much better on hard acceleration and hard driving. 19s are more for cruising.

Hey Wayne,
I just picked up a set of 18's too and haven't put them on yet. I'm thinking the same thing... oh well.... I do love the look of 19's though...

OEM !8's are the way to go. Light ,Strong .and just the right amount of sidewall compliance and response.

I'd say 18"ers are the way to go, but you can definitely
get lighter, better 18" wheels than stock.

From the newest Sport Auto:

(yes it's the German car mag that tests cars extensively on the ring etc etc...perhaps I should start translating it and selling worldwide )

Acceleration test 80-160km/h with 4., 5. and 6. gear

The car is 997 C4S.

18" Techarts: 10.6 - 13.3 - 18.5 seconds
19" Techarts: 10.7 - 13.7 - 18.8 seconds
20" Techarts: 11.1 - 14.0 - 19.7 seconds

They also tested lap times, but they aren't comparable imo because the tire widths were so different (The 20" set had like 245/325 tires while the 18" set was with 235/265 tires and so on)

Our Turbo rides only on 18" wheel sets...both street and track...

I'll probably feel like a dumb *** after you tell me the obvious, but I can't figure out what the first range of numbers after the "Techarts:" represents.

Acceleration from 80 to 160 km/h, first time mentioned is with 4. gear only, second with 5. and the last with 6.
