Gen 2 is an upgraded lid that will get air in from the left side. You can buy gen 1 now. The different between the 2 will be the lid basically.
That's what I wanted to hear... good thing it's not as heavy as it looks

VFlow is 1 piece rotomold. Skinnier air passage. Uses a aluminum maf tube, seal by engine decklid. Great product, but not ours. Different product....

I agree there are technical design differences, but functionally it still appears to be a clone to me. That's OK - I think by the looks of it, it will work roughly the same as a V-Flow, which is a good thing. My V-flow worked great and provided additional power. If the MAF housing is made from a material that does not heat up that would be better than the V-flow, but if your boxes are metal and heat up, they could act like heat exchangers, which is not as good as the V-flow being plastic....I think an all plastic or CF design would be best for intake air temp.

I am very interested and excited, but I am going to stand by and see the feedback from additional testing and maybe even wait for feedback from the first group of buyers.

First a side note... I was tired yesterday and said sheet metal. The boxes are actually aluminum so they are very light and durable. The black coating shows 0 imperfections...

Well just pulled in this morning. Car is great. The air intake temp sensor system has been installed, see pictures below. We have 1 probe in the box on the filter side and 1 in the silicone where the air is passing through. Cruising on the streets in stop and go there was only a difference of about 3F degrees between inside and outside temp. Once I hit the hwy, I cruised at different speeds, 65, 85, and then a burst of 110. From the air flow the difference jumped to 7F degrees different. That actual temperature on the probes was around 99-100F degrees. FYI in Phoenix right now at 7pm, it is 99 degrees outside LOL. So I am going to put the probes in the stock box and drive that around later to prove that the intake and temps are similar and ours not only looks cool, but gains great HP.

On the HP note, the throttle response was much much quicker. You could here the turbos spool up and feel that extra 20+ ft/lbs of torque boost right away. I am still very very happy.

Heavy Chevy, it is case sensitive. Make sure you have capitals where they need to be code is again 6SPDINTAKE.

When we released the K&N intakes to the 996C2 crowd, people ate them up, they made power and made alot of people happy. The ones that "waited" ended up waiting on K&N production not results I stand behind the product and your satisfaction.

Here are the testing pics. You can see how serious I am about this product.

Here is a picture of the filter. It is a K&N oval filter with a 4inch inlet. We have a reducer to the 3.5inch intake pipe. The pipes are powdercoated black like the box. All aluminum. This one is just fresh off from the welder.

Today we are going to put the intake on a bone stock 04 996TT as well. So will post up those numbers. Thanks for those guys who have ordered so far.

Dan,

Thanks for all this R and D. It will be well worth it, I am sure. I am very excited to put the product on my car, just want to read and review all your data first.

Great job.

will the gen-2 help with a 996tt, or is that second opening only good for GT2 cars?

it will work with the standard decklid joe. I have a stock 996TT here, so i will work on that. I dont think you will see big gains, but more cooler air. Who knows till we try!
