He'd fail.

Let him buy something else.("My dentist says..." )

Geez...

A
That's exactly how I feel.

IMO, he should just get a 997S and call it a day.

They are yet to make an accident prone car, we all are still waiting, since almost all manufacturers working on it it should be out shortly...LOL

The old Turbos (930) were dentist killers. The new ones are nothing like that.

Tell him there are so many for sale because Turbo owners are a bunch of ***** dentists who never feel 'safe' owning a car past 10k miles

Just tell him the logical explanation for seeing 996TT's for sale... People are upgrading to the 997TT... If he can't rationalize that in his mind maybe the P-Car isn't for him!

I would think that the AWD and PASM would make the 996TT one of the easiest sports cars to drive.

Do a youtube search with him for the 996tt with Tiff (the British race car driver). Talk about great video's. It is the one that has Star Wars music.

Good luck.

I had a 993 3.8L RS modded C4. The Turbo is way better for me and my needs. But that is me. Have him drive both and decide.

volvo safety is a myth. they are safe simply because there has never been a documented case of a soccer mom driving a volvo over 50mph

With AWD, and non defeatable PSM, it takes massive talent to actually crash a Turbo, which explains why the insurance rate is lower than that of an E46 M3.

IN fact, I sold mine because it was impossible to drive the car sideways in the dry with PSM off, whereas the E46 M3 with DSC off can easily get the hamfisted driver killed with lurid oversteer.

The GT2 is more like the 930 and 064 Turbo of the old days, no electronics, if you can't drive it properly, it kills you like the 930 and 964 Turbos and its dentist drivers.

Just tell him to get the Turbo, it is so cheap and safe and utilitarian to drive and insure that it's the bargain of the century. When I had the Turbo some weeks when my beater was in service, I drove it everyday and it was no less comfortable than the cushy M3.
