Got new front rotors and a fresh oil change done today, new front tires ordered and on the way, and will flush out the old Castrol SRF and put in all new Brake fluid (Motul RBF600) for the three day weekend at VIR 7-9 September... I'm STOKED!!!

Who else is going??

How was it?

I wanted to go but couldn't make it. I'm going Nov. 17-19th. Anyone else going then?

It was the most fun and rewarding time I've had at a track event. I learned a lot of subtle things to improve on the progression around the course at much faster speeds with much smoother and more repeatable laps... It was the culmination of a lot of small things that helped me get closer to a "race" pace when I had clear track. We're talking small things too, like carrying T3 in an arch instead of aiming for points out in the stands to make more straight/defensive lines, or carrying enough speed through T11/11A to keep it in 3rd gear and arch around Oaktree with much more speed than I'd ever imagined. The entry to T5 was another subtle little thing that I changed... Amazing what waiting another 3-5 ft. to turn inmade the rear engine Porsche turn in and plant faster around T5 and setup for the following 2 corners... All these things made a huge difference and were much different than the line I was running with the Corvette I had...

I also got a great bit of praise/writeup from my instructor and a recommendation to move up to White Run group with PCA! It helps when you know what trail braking is and how to apply it, or when your instructor asks you to change your line slightly to get a desired effect. We both had a great time, and I was actually able to remind him of a line he had deviated from, although by accident... It was a comment a classroom instructor passed along about using T14 as a throwaway. I was able to brake at the 2 marker coming down the back straight, square off the entry to 14 and cut in closer on the following right hander... I was able to lap all but about 3 cars in my group, repeatedly...

Brakes worked FLAWLESSLY all weekend and I'm sold on my combo... seven 30+ minute sessions in 90-98 degree heat, running at 7-8/10ths most of the time and I never once experienced brake fade... Pagid Yellows, new rotors, Motul RBF600 fluid, and my mustang cobra brake ducting kit (Ford parts, I know I know) worked like a champ and the car experienced ZERO mechanical issues.

I was just at VIR for the Ariel Atom driving school, and it really is one of the better and more well-kept tracks Ive ever experienced.

Glad to hear you were able to get the Oak Tree down, my skill got better throughout the day..but I always felt like I could be carrying a touch more speed unwinding the wheel from 11 into 12.
