Finally! 2004 996TT X50
Finally! 2004 996TT X50
Finally!
After being a noob and member here for many months…Just closed the deal
2004 TT, x50, 18k miles, Slate (duh) Grey/Grey
Around $8k in factory options (crests, ss exhaust, heated/support seats, etc, etc)
Amazing condition. To give you and idea, the prior owner had specified that the dealer was not permitted to wash the car prior to new car delivery to avoid swirls… the car has never been in the rain. In fact we were trying to set up a PPI and the owner was concerend “What if it is raining on the day you schedule the inspection?”… A good sign I thought.
I had a dealer do the full CPO inspection, including dumping the DME- Real clean. There were 254 Type 1 overrevs… and ZERO Type 2. The dealer’s comment was “the engine is pretty dusty”.
Signed an agreement, flew out Thursday to the midwest. Drove it, bought it. Drove it some more…. At 12noon Friday Bill DeMoise’s truck showed up, we tucked her on, and I hit the airport headed back to CA. Truck will see me in CA by Thursday! (Car was near Chicago.)
Amazing deal, amazing time, WOWOWOW.
Finally a big THANK YOU to those of you who’ve put up with me so far, and for all the information everyone shares here.
A few quick pictures without much of a detail.
As they say, let the mods begin.

PS Bill DeMoise is fantastic- just a real human touch, I felt like I was treated like a old friend who had shipped many cars. No hassles, no deposits, just ‘lets shoot for this window” then “hows Friday or Sat?” then “call the driver, you guys work it out”. Being in contact with the people that run the trucks is essential… I'll never use brokers, IMHO.
Here are two links to pics- I don't know how to resize them so they display without blowing out the viewing window:

Congrats!! You're gonna love this car.
Don't go too crazy with the mods, its almost too easy to get a huge amount of power from these motors.
Oh what the hell am i saying.
Mod all you want, and post some more pics!

I can't wait for the comments..... "HOW INAPPROPRIATE!" but I am in the market for ANOTHER 996TT as well (Father's New Car) and will want to go the X50 route in the next few months...
The Question: "What did you have to give up for the car?" ~ $$$

Doing the "UMW 2, then 3A/B" versus the "EVOMS path" evaluation right now.
Then the first baby step is intake, exhaust, diverter, flash- but I'd rather chose that first step based on where I want to ultimately take it.

PS Speed- I'll PM you.
