996 GT3 Cluster in 996TT

Can anyone confirm that this cluster will or will not fit in a 996TT? I found one for sale and before I buy it I want to make sure it will work. It has the Red Faced Gauges.

Part# is 996-641-213-92-70C

If so, is it just "Plug&Play" or do you need a computer to do an install. I know on Audi's they have an "immobilizer" and the dealer needs to do the install.

Thanks

I does not have a boost gauge. Why not just get red faces? PM BruceM as he has a source that can get them.

This is costing $100, so I figured it wasn't worth the effort to put gauge faces in or the possiblity of breaking the stock cluster.

Will the odometer mileage change to the new cluster? Or the mileage is stored somewhere else?

Thanks

The mileage will change to whatever is on the cluster, there are a few places that can reset it. Having said that, I would stay with the TT cluster.

I really just wanted to make sure the gauge was "Plug&Play" and there wasn't any immobilizer. That being said, I might just take all your's advise and just buy the gauge faces.
Thanks everyone for all the input

the only person I can think off the top of my head that this would be useful for would be Marksi, some of the UMW big dogs, and CJV. (no disrespect to anyone else in the TT community turning 8k+)

The milage is stored in the cluster, the hours of operation are in the ECU. I would stick with a gauge face change. If your in California, North Hollywood Speedometer is the place. You could send them the cluster, but you'd be offline for about a week while they do it. There a cluster on ebay right now for $350...thats a steal, but it's a Tippy and needs a **** replacement. For that price you could add the new faces and be done for $500~. Good luck. FWIW..As a car buyer....cluster changes always make me curious

No, good question... I think Red looks the sickest, but white is nice also.
