Engine ping/studer

I had the 30k service done at 27,000 miles and the car currently has 30,400 miles. I'm getting a slight ping under hard acceleration in 3rd and 4th. Also i have noticed that my boost isnt going to the maximum. It only reaches .8 - .9 instead of the 1.0. I added half a tank of 100 octane to see if it was the gas i was using but i still get the ping. Weather here in the Bay Area is around 56F early morning and late at night, so i'm as what the problem maybe.

Any suggestions ? perhaps a boost leak somewhere ?

TIA

Enrique

Nicolas Kiesa is infamous around these parts
Or have some diagnostiscs connected whilst runing, you could also have a faulty fuel pump which will cause fuel press drop so the DET is not from aggresive ignition curves but fuel starvation/running lean = dangerous!!! So get it checked asap..

Im suprised the Throttle body does not shut down as the Bosch program tuned or not has a function to to protect the engine and shut it down.

What makes you think it was pinging ? Generally things do not last too long when that happens (much less under boost). More like it developed a miss ?

Thanks guys for all your replys, i really appreciate it.

Hm, when i got the 30k service done, the car still had hesitation/ping misfire in cylinder 3 and 6 i believe. I took it to another porsche dealership, and they changed the plugs around and told me if it happens again to bring it in. Well it went away ( that was about 2,500 ago), but the other day a friend wanted a small drag race, and the ping started up again. So i guess i have to take her back in so it can be checked out. The car is no fun with the ping .
