I noticed that the MAF that your selling is for Porsche models that have E-gas. Forgive my ignorance, but how would I know if my 996 have E-gas?

The 98-01, 3.4 litre 996 engines do not use E-gas.

3.4 litre Boxster (97-04) is the same - no E-gas.

And '01-'04 Boxster "S" has no E-Gas.

These all use MAF Sensor #996-606-123-00 and we have this part available, too, for the same price - $136.99 delivered cont. USA.

 

My car is a 2000 911 C4. I assume that this has no E-gas then and will not be compatible with the MAF that your selling just in case I determined that my MAF is bad. Thank you for your response though.

 

I don't believe your car has E-Gas. I also have that MAF available for the same price. It is equivilent to Porsche part# 996-606-123-00

You can look at your MAF sensor to verify exactly which you have - the number should be right on it...

 

Wow great price! thats almost $100 less than the lowest current seller... Too good to be true?! i hope not.... lets hear some responses from people who get them then i'm all in!

 

UH, Mine's going in the car trailer tool box. I don't need one right now, but want to have one on hand in the event that I'm at the track and can't get another...

I hope there are no issues with it, as my car is modified, and the OEM factory BOSCH unit is working just fine with it...

I have tested this MAF in my own car, which is a k24/18G with 70mm fresh air intake, dual snorkel air box, Speedtech full 70/75mm intake and Y-Pipe system, 75mm throttle body, RSS plenum, Hi-Flow IC's, ported headers, 60 lb. injectors, Greddy EBC, dual fuel pumps, SpeedTech 70mm exhaust, etc. - a typical 700 package...

During initial testing and then in general use, I have hammered the car trying to pop the aftermarket MAF and it has held up. I think my car is a pretty good test vehicle, as it is at the upper limit of what the OEM style MAF can supposedly handle.

It is possible this MAF is stronger than the OEM - I don't really know...Too bad I sold my V-Flow, I could have tested to see if it withstands, what the OEM could not...

Bottom line - based on my testing and experience, it works perfectly fine.

No, there is nothing wrong with the plastic - it's just the pictures. It looks like a perfectly new unit and is manufactured new. I'll update the pictures when I have a chance, as they do not represent it well...it's a very good copy of the original and of perfectly acceptable quality.
