A.W.E. Tuning 996TT Intercoolers
Our 996TT Intercoolers will be in stock on 12/19/08.
Efficient bar/plate core style
Cast and machined end tanks for optimized air flow
Thick silicone boost hoses with proper profile where they mate to turbo
T-bolt clamps for extreme clamping force
Direct plug and play install that is easily reversible
+16 crank hp dyno verified
Complete Kit
Data was collected on our Mustang MD-AWD-500-SE AWD dynamometer, on the street, and on various race tracks. Several runs were made recording wheel power for both the stock and AWE Tuning intercooler assemblies and then averaged, with graphs of the changes shown below. All tests were done on our in house 2007 997TT with a prototype 750R turbo kit installed. 93 octane fuel was used for all tests.
Below: Power test of our intercooler design vs stock. Installing our intercooler system reduced heat tremendously, to produce a cooler, denser intake air charge, resulting in a very nice increase in power at high rpms (nearly 16 crank horsepower at peak when converting from the dyno sheet wheel power measurement). Even more impressive was the additional low end power released by reducing the pressure drop through the cores.

All testing was done with our shop 997TT.
One of the other aspects that set us apart is that we did not take 996TT IC's and tell 997TT users they would fit. Truth is, they don't without MAJOR modification. The hoses are different as well.
We have 996 and 997 specific bends and modular intercoolers that properly fit both cars without hacking it apart.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Sorry, but I'm not that familiar with the 997TT configuration, are the standard 997TT intercoolers roughly the same (core wise) as the 996TT units? Just wondering if the IAT reductions would be comparable or even more significant for the 996TT. Do you have numbers for pressure drop across the IC for stock vs. these units? They do look great, and a great price for a complete solution. Thanks for the info.

Yes, you are correct. They are very similar minus the installation.

We are very proud of this product.

How was the install? Smooth?

Do your new ICs require different boost hoses? If not, is there a price drop if new hoses aren't required?
Thanks,
Rich
