Its 3" throughout with 3in inlet and outlet straight through mufflers.

 

Thanks,then the mufflers are 3'' perforated cores?
And the tail pipes are 3'' into 3'' tips?

Nice exhaust good fit. The removable cats were a god send when I had to replace my front O2 sensors recently. Made the job 20 minutes per side.

Are there any performance (HP) gains when using this exhaust as compared to the stock 996TT exhaust? If so, what are they?

 

This exhaust and any good exhaust will give you actual /real performance gains over our stock cork type exhaust..

 

I unfortunately went a complete route when I did my upgrade since I went with exhaust and tune at the same time. I will add that I did subsequently upgrade turbos, injectors, and new tune that took advantage of the exhaust and to date it has performed very well. My only caviat to the exhaust is how low it hangs out below the vehicle and have rubbed driveways on exits or if you are backing your car into a parking stall, the cement blocks in the stall will make contact in comparison to the stock ones which never did
