Factory Litronics Light Set for $1300.00

Thought it was a great deal and worthy of sharing. Champion Porsche has the OEM Litronic Set for $1300.00. I will get mine on Friday and can't wait to get them on.

Is 1300.00 a good deal? I am considering this upgrade in Dec. Is it just a swap out plug and play?

i have looked around and seen the average from$1500-1800.00. So yes I think it is a great deal. They have 7 sets for this price. I was not sure if they were 6 supporters so I declined the idea of posting contact info or a link. You can hunt that one down yourself.

98-01 996 and 986 leasees that upgraded to litronics on leased cars used to reinstall stock OEM lights, and auction the litronics on Ebay. That's where I sourced mine a few years ago. Make sure they include wiring harness so it will plug and play. It will not have the suave factory self-levelling feature however.

The $1,300 kits should have the auto-leveling feature. The harness is built in to the headlight unit. I just got my recently from Suncoast and they sell them standard with the auto-leveling for $1,375.

do you have to do any wiring for the auto-leaving feature?

Yes. But you can install them without it and not get the auto leveling (which I don't think provides a lot of benefit). That's what most folks do. In that case, it's a 10 minute swap and you do not need the wiring harness.

You can pick up used sets on eBay for about $900 or less. There are usually always a couple sets on there. And if you have the clear standard halogen lights from a pre-'02 car, you can get pretty good money selling them to Boxster owners.

I heard that the self-leveling harness for $300 did little to no difference from people that retrofitted the litronics

For me my set from the dealer came with the whole setup. From my experience it auto levels when I start the car, then the xenon looks like it's set.

One addition though is without the auto leveling feature, when you hit high beams your xenons won't rotate upwards. e.g. you won't have bi-xenons.

Stepper motor wiring is very easy and the kit I bought included all of the harness and fittings. I anyone needs the install info, PM me and I will send it to you. I is very easy and adds less than an hour to the job but the benefits are worth the effort.
