I've narrowed it down..

I'm trying to decide between an 01 turbo (35k miles) or an 03 tip cab (24k)
the prices are pretty good for both.. I'm moving back to Pittsburgh (go steelers) next month and am wondering what car will suit me as an everyday driver.. I love the thought of the AWD that the turbo and the 4s provide but the 996 cab is so damn cheap and I can start modding right away.. GT2 misha wing..TA front and rear valences...pss9's...HRE's...etc...

Can anyone push me towards one of these with your personal experiences?? How is driving a cab with the hard shell?? I guess my one fear is that the weather in pgh sucks and I'll probably have to use it for half the year if I buy the cab..If I get the turbo, i'm wondering how it will run if I get caught in some light snow..

I'll go against the grain and say nay on the TT. I was in a similar dilema, i was chossing between a 996 C4S and 996 TT. The TTs that I came across had slightly more mileage and were a year or two older, most out of the warranty period. I read that there may be more maintenance concerns with a TT and that you need to replenish oil more frequently than a non TT, as minor as that may be to some TT owners. I thus decided to go for the C4S and am picking one up this Saturday. Good luck, choose wisely.

but you were choosing between a newer C4S to a TT as opposed to his situation which is between a C2 and a TT. I think you made the right choice in going with a newer C4S, but for his situation, it's a tip C2 or a TT, which is a pretty big difference. a tip is no fun to drive on our cars.

My main concern is that the tt is an 01 and the c2 is an 03.. I figure that there will be a lot less issues on the o3? I might hold off for a little while until I get some things in order and persue the 997 c4s that I had originally planned on getting this spring. Pray for me

I just went from a C4 Cab to a TT Cab....No comparison. Get the TT. If's it's been well maintained, care and feeding should not be that much different than the C2. And you will like the 4 wheel drive in the snow. Get a PPI done....
