Question Fabspeed Headers and Exhaust

I am considering adding the Fabspeed headers and exhaust to my 03 996 Cab and wondered if it is worth the $$ in terms of performance improvement and also how it will affect my factory warranty.I would appreciate some input from anyone running this setup. Thanks

It shouldn't affect your warranty and you'll notice little to any performance increase. What you will notice is an improvement in the sound.

Warranty should be ok but you will notice better throttle response and a slight bump in power. Not to mention the sound will be killer and make you feel like you are going much faster.

sasportas has a spectacular aura aboutsasportas has a spectacular aura about
header's / exhaust

I installed Fabspeed headers and exhaust on a brand new '04 C4S and couldn't be happier with the sound. As for performance, I have nothing to compare it to but the throttle response seems to be improved. Additionally, the headers and exhaust save about 20-24 lbs from the rear of the car if this makes any difference. Also, the look from beneath is greatly improved. Go for it.

Easy to do and great sound. I have FVD which are similar to Fabspeed and had to do a little grinding of the flang to get the seal flush with the old gasket. Torque to 18 ft/lb. Mufflers are easy. Keep your tips straight . Will

Thanks for the input guys
I have had some problems posting reply's until now, sorry for the
delay.
Anyway, i am eager to improve the growl of my 996 and i like the look and sound of the fabspeed mufflers.
I ran the idea past the service manager at a Porsche dealer here in SoCal, and the response was less than encouraging.
He said that it could cause potential warranty issues
This is a big dissapointment for me as I was really was looking forward to the better sound.
Why would Fabspeed be representing "warranty compliant" all over their website, when in fact the dealers feel different??
Any thoughts

SC996, I think it's different from dealer to dealer. Try asking another dealer in your area. Could be they just want you to buy Factory Porsche parts, like PSE. Of course, they might 'have' to say that while at work since it's aftermarket.

Installing the exhaust alone should not affect your warranty at all. It's the headers that dealers may give you trouble on. If I were you, I'd just do the the exhaust for sound. I had the Fabspeed exhaust on my n/a 996 and it sounded awesome.

The warranty issue is concern for most folks. Keep in mind that if you change the mufflers and you run into some mechanical issue the dealer has to be reasonable when they decide to fix your issue under "manufacturers" warranty.

The dealer would have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the mechanical failure to "disallow" a warranty repair. So if your transmission start to have problems they can't point to the exhaust.

If I were you, I'd do it! Just my $0.02 worth.
