Rear windows up when top is down
Rear windows up when top is down
I may be the last person on earth to find this out, but just in case.... If you want the little rear windows up along with the front ones when the top is down, just press your finger in the hole where the latch fits on top of the windshield while pressing the rear window buttons. DUH! (Looks a lot "cooler" that way.) Someone please tell me they didn't know this before

Also a FYI for you guys, our car has a motion detector.. when the top is down and you lock the car with the remote the motion detector inside is diabled. If you get out of the car reach over and hold that same switch up as you arm the alarm it will trick into thinking the top is closed and it will arm the motion detector. I dont understand why they would disable this feature when the top is down.. probably don't want to deal with people bringing there cars in for false alarms...

My only question / concern is, what happens when you try to put the top up when the rear windows are up as well? Do they automatically come down when you trigger the top to go up? I can see an issue if the windows do not come down as the top is going up. Otherwise I cant see why having the rear windows up would make a difference either way.
Well done Don ! I had no idea on how to do it either.

Hey Cab Guys,
See if this will answer your questions. I had one for the Boxster and it's used in conjunction with the Speedster cover so that you won't accidentally raise the top up while the cover was installed. But, I didn't have a Speedster cover and used the Red Clip to fake the alarm system into thinking that the top was up and would activate the inside IR motion detectors when alarm is activated. It looks like it might work for your cars too. Best of all, it's cheap!

Actually, I had a thought while I was driving. Could it be because Porsche don't want you to put up those little windows by themselves. I mean with the top down, windows down, and those little windows up, could those 2 little windows stand the forces of wind by themselve if we were driving at higher speeds?
Peter
I would hope so. Now maybe they were thinking that they would act as "rudders" or "horizontal stabilizers" or such at high speeds that can cause the car to handle like crap. Or just don't want something or somebody's limb being "guillotined" while having the windows up while closing the top.

always wondered how those suckers came up...
