Just another Amp and Crossover install - Alpine and MB Quart

Well got impatient waiting for my tune so, I installed my Alpine PDX 4.100 amp and MB Quart QSC 210 speakers. I installed the MB Quart speakers up front in stock grills and left the Hi Fi stock speakers in the back for fill and added just one sub. I am still on the fence on the HD unit either pioneer d3 or one of the kenwood double dins. I will have to run the rears off of deck power to get amp power to the Sub. I do like the amps footprint small and crossovers fit nicely next to it not completetly finished, but looks pretty good to me right now.

Thanks, the alpine makes that easy being so small and almost seems as if the spot for the crossovers was meant for that purpose.

Just finished my install today ended up getting the pioneer d3 *comes with nav cd's. What's nice is it looks stock down to matching the button colors which can be adjusted and I also changed the background picture to the porsche logo. Sounds pretty good and many adjustments can be made to suit your taste I chose the Mb Quart because after hearing the morels that it was not musical enough for me but they had raw great sound. The Sub is a cheap one 8" I had sitting around whcih I modified the box to fit alittle nicer, but does thump and adds to the small 4" speakers throughout which completes the sound stage. The car cabin is small so it does not take much to get decent sound. I am very happy with the sound and thats comparing it to my old alpine system in my BMW which had coxial speakers. Took some pics but turned out so bad I did not post. As a mention the GPS pickup was the hardest of the whole project.

Can you explain how you attached or mounted the amp against the back wall?

With the alpine there are 4 holes that support using screws for mounting just under the circular covers (which are removable) at all 4 corners which makes for a real clean install. The screw size was large about 2 1/2" length and used a felt pen to mark then drill.

The amp I used was Alpine PDX 4.100 4 channel and the reasons where size, and it's very clean sound and price it will not break the bank. You may be better served by a 5 channel amp. I used 2 amp channels to drive the front components and back two speakers are powered by the HD unit rear outs and channel 3 on amp used for the (1) Sub the rest is setup with the controls of the pioneer Avic D3 which blends everything very well. The sound well that's an individual thing but I like the MB Quarts QSC 210's I used they sound more musical then the morels I was looking at and cheaper. Over all very happy with the SQ.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question on attaching the amp to the wall. I am stacking two amps in that cubby, a PDX 4.150 and a PDX 2.150. The 2.150 will be bridged to drive my subwoofers and the 4.150 will also be bridged to drive my Boston Acoustics Z5s as well as the CDT enhancement tweers in the dash. The Z5s do not come alive until you drive them with a lot of power and I understand the PDX power ratings are way conservative!

The best thing about the setup is that it will allow me to gain back a lot of space eaten up by a bg ol' Alpine MRV-1507. Thanks for showing me what was possible.

JomamaGT sounds like a nice system and nice because the amps are stackable also, heres with the Pioneer HD unit not sure what I am going to do with the space underneath yet.
