My 996 getting ready for european car magazine

Here are some pics of my work in progess for european car magazine, car audio magazine, performance buisness news, and fresh coast. The base chasis was a 99 996 carrera. Let me know what you guys think and be honest. This is my first porsche build as far as a complete cover car kinda deal and i want to make sure i dont over bling the car. Pics are throughout progression of the build.

Beautiful car. I've been a GTPro customer and fan since my 3000GT days. Great job with this 996 and the 360 as well.

wow. thanks man. i didnt know any members on here knew what a 3000gt was. This is my personal car ive been working on for some time. I got tired of working on japanes cars. Drove a porsche and never went back. Decided to get my first one as a guiney-pig -car to see what i could do to it without feeling to guilty in destroying it. i must says the car is trully well built and well designed. The people associated with these cars is also much more pleasurable to talk with and to work with.

IMHO.....the wheels are a bit too flashy. Way too much lip for my taste.......maybe too much for the Euro crowd too. Maybe some race inspired rims would help.....everything else is great...color, wing etc.

Cool. Thanks for the input. The wheels on it are mayas, these are as light as a set of hre wheels in the same size 20x13'' . i could not find a set of wheels that would set off the widebody except for showing some lip on the wheels. Many do not like the mad lip style, many love it. I personally am not a huge fan of the techart style wheels. They look very inexpensive to be the price that they are even for the weight savings

no. The body is actually an rsr gt3 from germany except i molded the fenders on it. The kit is NOT bolt on. Requires alot of modifications to make work on a street car. The kit is MUCH wider than a stock body. the first wheels are from a company called vip modular. very nice wheels, but they are a nightmare to do buisness with. The wheels didnt fit that well after they measured for clearances twice. After complaining to them after making some major mistakes with 2 sets of my customers wheels, we got in to it and i gave the wheels back to them. The mayas have a much better fit and finish and are welded after final assembly (3 piece wheels) Here is the picture from porsche of what the body of my car looks like. Its hard to tell because my car is black and the rear fenders have been molded

Very nice work but the interior needs the same attention. Like race seats and cage. the wing, big wheels, rsr bumper and stock seats seem to be at odds, imo.

or... tint the windows dark for the photo shoot.

the car is getting GT3 seats, black armani leather conversion throughout. a touch screen interactive vehicle monitoring system, roll cage, sabelt harness', full focal soundsystem, Plus the windows tinted. I know ,down with the brown. as i stated, work in progress, but good eye and thanks for the info. i dont wanto to give porsche owners a black eye with this thing being in th mags and not being a nice representation of what the car should be

Looks good Dennis! Any chance we can get a straight on front and rear shot? I would love to see just how much more width yours has over my 996.

Thanks!
