JIC Cross coilovers on a daily driver?

Hey guys,

Is anybody running the JIC Cross coilovers on their daily driver? If so, can you please give me an idea of the ride quality?

Thank you!

JICs work for a DD depending on your spring rates. I have the 7/11kg setup on my c2. You'll get more road noise and feel the road a lot more. 8/12 may be a bit much but I think it's still doable if you like tight handling (thinking I would do this if I had to do it again).

I have the 7/10 setup with 18" wheels which is pretty stiff for the (crappy) Northeast roads. Mine's a weekend car so it's O.K. I suspect you could easily run these rates as DD on the smooth GA roads and maybe 8/12 if the roads are very, very good....also depends on 18" or 19" wheels...would not want to run 8/12 with 19's on the street....

The drop links helped in eliminating preload on the GT3 sway bars. When the car was lowered. Are you running stock sway bars with your JRZs?

I'm currently running 8/12k JICs on my '03 996 - pretty stiff, but what you give up on the daily driver aspect, you get back on the track. I'm not sure I'd change anything in hindsight, but you'll definately feel the difference. The ride, though, is incredible in terms of handling...I'm also running the GT3 adjustable sway bars, which tighten things up as well.

All in all, great product, but you will notice a big difference in ride quality. It's not tooth rattling, but definately stiff.

As for the drop links - you'll need them with the JICs if you move to adjustable sway bars. Plus, the drop links Porsche puts on the cars stock are pretty wimpy - any of the aftermarket adjustable drop links will provide one less place for something to break.

I'd probably start by asking the guys who made the custom links for you.
