C2 Brake Upgrade to Turbo Brakes??

Can I have some comments on upgrading C2 brakes. Is upgrading to stock TT brakes a good idea as they should be readily available used?? Or is there another resonable option to gain stopping power without dumping the motherload of $.

thx..

You guys should ask Ben, lj. He put in turbo brakes in his C2. He also has the supercharger. When I asked him about it, he said that he wouldn't do it again.

the hubs are expensive as all hell as he used gt3 hubs - expensive now but not then as they were included in his kit. They actually weigh a lot and he noted that that probably counteracted any real benefit. Brembo makes a kit that is better as it's much lighter etc.

yep, the same kit i pd appx $3500 for runs appx $5k. i was dismayed to learn after swapping the wheels for the 02 5 spokes to drop weight, the turbo brakes put it all right back on. just go for the lightweight brembos IMO or pass all together. if you throw on the turbos without reducing unsprung weight by a similar amount, you are going to notice poorer handling and ride quality.

I hear Arling's Light weight Brembos are sick you want to stop... and you have what $10K to thow down... those are the ones... Roy not worth the money. for a couple extra... mm... of piston and larger volume Mono block.

yep, unless your proposed brake upgrade meaningfully reduces unsprung weight, i'd pass no matter what the cost.
