Can a newer style key or key blank be ordered for 996's? Like the silver and black (smaller) on the 997 and caymans?

 

If you talk about the standard key for 997 or Cayman it would not work with 996. The only upgrade you can do with your 996 key is the CGT look like with 911 blinker.

they look sweet. Alot better than the cheesy OEM ones. Another mod maybe

 

i used a silver blank with a gt remote for mine, it sticks out a little bit more than the original but it works perfect

where can you find those keys... they look good!!!

 

Suncoast has them with instructions on how to take apart your existing key and carefully replace the transponder. Took 5 minutes and worked like a charm. Cost is about $130 per key but well worth it to see the "911" light up in red.
