Removing sport seat backs.....

I just bought a set of sport seats for my 996 and I was thinking about painting them or having them wrapped with carbon. Does anyone know how to remove the backs? I did a search under, "seat backs" on renntech and couldn't find anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Remove the seat skins a flat blade (big flat head screw driver would work as well) from the back cover. Start from the lower edge and work all the way around (out and over). Take you time as they can rip at the edge easily.

Pull out the two upper seat forward release latch. Remove the torx screw that hold in the back hanger hook. There might be a couple more screws in the inner structure and it should come out.

So when you say, "remove the seat skin for the back cover", what does that mean? Does that mean put a flat head in between where the leather meets the seat back?

Yes - the leather / skin is pull over and around the lip of the hard back shell and pushed into place. Start from the bottom where the seat belt sits and work your way up and over. It's like a zip lok bag - just be patient and becareful not to rip the skin...

It took me 20min each the first time around to remove everything. Install takes a little longer.
