good value 2003 c4s coupe

I am about to purchase a 2003 C4s 6 speed. One owner with 75K miles BUT brand new x51 engine and new clutch. Brand new means 10 miles on engine and clutch. Comes with 2 year engine warranty and 2 year/100K CPO.

asking price is $43K. Deal or no deal?

I was fortunate to run into a similar situation. My car had the engine assembly and clutch done about 4k miles ago (done by Porsche dealer with all new OEM Porsche parts 18k in work). I also have an unlimited mile warranty and it goes until May 2009. The chassis has 87k on it so I got it for only 26k which I thought was a damn good deal. Haven't found to many 996s for under 28k

Looks good...but just know, there is no separate warranty for the engine...NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU....The warranty on the car ends when the CPO warranty is up. So you really have a 2 year/25k mile warranty. If you dont drive mucg, then its ok...but if you do put miles on the car, just know you will only have 25k miles of warranty on the car...not 2 years/100k miles on the engine. If you dont beleive me, call 1-800-Porsche and ask them. 2 year/100k miles parts warranty is only valid when the customer buys the part for the car OUT of warranty....The fact that the dealer installed before you bought means you have ONLY the CPO warranty....

Thanks for the input. How has the chassis held up? How many miles do you have now?

Sweet. 2nd engine has been perfect. Remanufactured engines are actually better than the new engines, They have been gone through and tested more thoroughly and they have all mechanical updates of the latest engines. So you get basically a 997 engine in the car. Does not include any performance updates...but the internal components have been replaced and updated to the newest parts. This is why remanufactured 3.4L and 3.6L engines dont usually suffer the same failures as the ones that came with the car. Its probably just a tad bit more powerful too....

I looked for approx 3 months before finding mine.....I lucked out, the guy was moving to China and had a couple of significantly higher offers fall through.
