C2 vs C4S
OK...well I compared a stock C2 and a stock C4....I liked the C4...just the kinda driving I like...I dont like the car sliding around...The C2 is a great car, just depends on what you want....people say the C4 is boring because its too planted...I like that kind of boredom.

The C4S has the illusion of "feeling" more planted due to all the extra weight it carries. Want to make a C2 "feel" like a C4S? Throw a few bags of sand in the front trunk.
Looks wise the C4S is awesome and it certainly has advantages in inclement weather. However, it's at a disadvantage vs a C2 in the dry.

now if i'm going the way of hairsplitting styles here... the c4s with its bigger brakes and "improved" suspension and overall grip translates to better 'Ring track times, no?

we're dangerously getting into major hairsplittsville fellas
i won't argue the fact that the rwd 911s dance better than the awd. it feels more alive whereas the awd just digs down and just grips grips grips. i like both, but if one looks better than the other as is clearly the case with the widebody and reflector strip on the 996 c4s, i chose it over the lighter, nimbler carrera narrow.

Some excellent points have been made.
I personally, drove both and decided I liked the C4S, based on it's looks as well as performance.
I'm not trying to set lap records in time trials....so the extra weight doesn't bother me.
Unless you get proficent and comfortable with driving the C2 with the throttle, the C4 will feel much safer and more user friendly. In my "younger days", I was happy to hang the tail out. I guess I've mellowed.

B. Choi?...the voice of reason? I agree to disagree....The C2 is lighter and that gives it an advantage, the C4s is AWD and the chassis is stiffer and that has its advantages. (yes the C4S has a stiffer chassis, thats why they use it for the GT2/GT3/and race cars NOT a C2 chassis). The AWD's ability to transfer power from a slipping wheel to wheels with grip give it an advantage in all weather conditions, especially wet. The C2's advantage is weight. They are both WONDERFUL cars, but to say a C4s handles like it does because weight in the front(which gives it a more neutral weight balance) is leaving out 99% of the other things it has going for it. Which one is faster? DEPENDS ON THE DRIVER. Walter Rohl prefers the C4...why, its easier to drive fast. Can the C2 go faster around a track, probably, but the question is can an average driver go faster in a C2 around a track...probably not...Again, its what you prefer...some like a planted feel, others want to be in total control, even if its less planted.
