911Spdstr is infamous around these parts
From what I've gathered - your seat belt buckle is a close loop circuit. If the voltage doesn't get back to the brain when you turn the key then the air bag light will come on. Replacing the buckle and have the dealer / Indy reset the error code is the only way to clear it (assuming the buckle is the problem).

I'm still waiting to take it to the dealership to get mine clear - I have about 20 buckles on the shelf if you need one

durametric before dealer. its worth the money just to clear the light, and the problem will be specifically identified.

If you don't know the root cause - definitely get it scan first. I knew mine was self inflicted - changed seats and was stupid enought to turn the key again so that I can power the seat to a collapse position!!!

ouch. mucho sympatico. My theory, debunked of course, was that the light came on when I took out and then replaced a cd without the key in the ignition. Cleared the light with Durametric.

So, as most of us have come to understand over the years, yes, there is indeed a mystique to owning Porsche cars. good luck...

I have the same problem and when i put the reader on it says left buckle, I am not a mechanic but I think I will tackle this problem myself. I hate to spend $300 on a fancy ready to clear the code. Is there anyone in Chicago who wants to do it for $50???
