swapped back to stock wheels/tires for NYC winter. While driving on certain highway roads, I feel the car pulling hard in either direction. Alignment seems fine as it doesnt pull all the time. Any thoughts?

Check the air pressure in the tires. If you don't have a directional tread pattern, swap the front tires from side-to-side. If the pull goes to the other side, you have a bad tire. After the winter, you may as well have the alignment checked again anyway.

it sounds like an issue that's more related to the grooves in the road. This is usually more common with high performance tires since they grab the road and tend to be more easily swayed by washboards and grooves.

Ditto, I have the same feel on certain NJ roads and you could probably confirm it by seing where/when it pulls, then try ro duplicate it.

It is just the tires 'tram lining' if your alignment is within spec.

Springgeyser is right, it's called tramlining, and caused by wide tires like ours, running on imperfect road surfaces (wavy and grooved) usually result of those damn heavy semi trucks.

Thanks guys, just didnt want to think i was going crazy! Weird how tramlining seems more prominent with the pirelli pzeros rather than the michelin ps2s...

the worst tires i've ever had for this were Kumhos, and this was on a Lexus GS, so i can't imaging what it would be like on a P-car.

Which direction? Mine pulls forward pretty hard, but I like it.

Seems like the more firm the tire the worse the tramlineing becomes. I thinks that is why the pirelli tires seem to feel like they do it more. I think they have a stiffer sidewall then the Mich's. Does that sound right?

took the car out this wknd and it now steering feels real unstable/loose. on level streets,it seems fine but not as tight as usual.Even on ungrooved roads any uneven roads will cause jerking. Im beginning to think it may be a broken linkage/control arm? would that be the culprit?

what size tires you running in the rear? Curious? I just put some pss9's on last week, but switched my tires from 305 25 19 to 295 30 19, and the car is does not feel as tight as I had hoped it would with the pss9's? The rear is kind of bouncy now? Guys that did the install, saying the tire might be to high now? To answer your original question though, yes also feels like there's a slight pull.

When I had the PSS9 installed I had a slight pull to the left and was advised by the Indy shop to drive it a bit more so the coilovers would be more set. Also, check your tire pressure. I was told 36 fronts and 40 rears (we have the same rear size).

As for 996Jammy, I would have a shop have a look underneath your car just to check if any steering or relative parts are bad. You don't want to be 2nd guessing this issue as it happens when the vehicle moves at speed. Just my .02
