Stupid Window problem

Window will not auto level to open door or auto raise after closing door. Search tells me this is a Window regulator cable stretch issue at 27k miles.....on passenger side on a coupe. I assume based on search this is common? Is there a way to reset before I tear off the door panel? Come on Porsche get some quality cables for goodness sake....absolutely ridiculous

Yeah no kidding. Got the same problem but just havent got around to fixing it. If you do a search there is a link explaining in detail the regulator install and also how to reset.

+1. i have that on the passenger door for about a year. have the regulator cable, looking for time to install.

This maybe an another example of the "these cars need to be driven" syndrome. My passenger door window has had little use compared to the drivers side.....

regarding the reset feature - the only thing I saw from search was reset by holding switch all the down and all the way up for 5-10 sec. But I believe this is for a Cab. This had no impact on my Coupe. Anyone who has fixed this regulator - how hard is the DIY method?

Here is detailed DIY......it's for a boxster, albeit the same as a 996.

Got the same problem on my Boxster. I checked it and is not the cable, it has 4 green plastic washers that break and make the cable close to the riel. I'm trying to fix it, I ll keep you informed.
