Intro and Pics of our 996 with a Gemballa/Turbo Conversion

Hey guys.. thought I do a brief intro. Ive been browsing this site for about the last 8 months and recently registered. Great site, and a great group of car nuts here.

We own an 88 Cab, 2000 Boxster S(will be up for sale) and just purchased a 2001 996 with a Gemballa/Turbo body.

This is one of my other rides:

FFR GTM. 2400lbs wet, mid engine, with about 450 HP, All Aluminum V8, Porsche Transaxle. Just finished building it. About 1700 hours labor.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks, Dave

Love the GTM.

Porsche looks great as well, nice rides.

Can I ask you what motor the GTM has and where you bought the shell/frame.

Thank and take care.

GTM looks sweet...awesome job.

The 996 looks like it needs different wheels and a drop. Looking from the side--it just doesn't fill the wheel wells completely. Otherwise, looks great!

www.factoryfive.com Look up the GTM.

My build site www.gtmbuild.com I have about 300 pics of my build on it, plus links to my build log that documents pretty much the entire build process from start to finish.

The motor started as an LS1. I changed out the intake, heads, custom Comp Cam and valve springs, titanium retainers, Katech rod bolts, ported oil pump, custom long tube SS header system and X pipe by "Kooks".

The car will accept LS1, LS6, LS2, LS3, LS7.

Couldnt agree more... I've been browsing for wheels and looking for the best way to drop the car a bit. Open to suggestions... thanks!

So the 996 started as a narrow body and converted to a widebody turbo rear? That is pretty sweet but I think you need to change your rear trunk lid because it looks like it doesnt fit.

what are your plans for the wheels? I bet after new wheels, your car will look 1000x better.
