Xepnon Headlights - trade value?

I'm going to track my new car and the LITRONIC headlights for me are a waste. What could I expect to get from someone looking to upgrade? Of course I'd need their headlights. These are in perfect shape.

Are there any other mods required?

NOTE: This is the new style, MKII, 2002+ Headlight style.

EDIT: Should have said LITRONIC, not Xenon! Sorry!

You can easily get a grand for them. Heres the deal.... 996 and 986 lights are the same. When you advertise them as 996 lights, you dont have many buyers because a lot of 996 came with them standard and there was only 3 years that they were used.

986 Used them from 1997-2004 on all models, and most boxsters did not come with litronics. German parts pricing recently jumped at most dealerships and litronics went from ~1600 to ~2500.

Advertise them here, ebay, renntech, and rennlist as 996/986 lights and you should find a quick sale (trade).

An interesting side note.. I wanted to do the 996 2002 front end on my boxster and bought a set of lights on here. After 6 months and deciding I would be nuts to rip apart my perfect front end, I put them on ebay. I sold them to a German fella who said parts were too expensive there so he would buy against our cheap dollar and ship them. The poor lights crossed the ocean twice.. and I made double what I bought them for.

Mk II HID's are not plug and play like the lights on the Mk I's. Additionally, they will not work on Boxsters.

As a result they are probably worth a lot less than the older Mk I litronics.

Are you saying the MkII Litronics, will not install in a 996 02+ without modifications and vice versa?

Correct. The Mk I Lits could be installed in Halogen equiped 996's and 986's with very few modifications. This is not true for MK II cars. They require quite a bit of work to accept the litronics.
