Black Exhaust Tips

Has anyone here powdercoated or anodized there exhaust tips to black? Further details and any good referrals of who can do this would be appreciated. Thank you.

My car is at EVO now. Black tips are part of the "to do" list.

I would be interested in this as well...I have bypass pipes...it would be interesting to see if it could be done to those. Love that look, pretty hot!

I've seen a black chrome exhaust tip at Ralph Booth's house once. He could make one for you.

I just had mine done. It's cheap and can be done on any metal parts. Like $10 a piece. Looks nice. Only problem is that I can't get the tips back on. Has nothing do with the powdercoating though. It's just a crazy snug fit between the pipes. I don't want to start hammering on them with a rubber mallet and damage the pc job. Now I'm tipless with these satin black tips tauninting me to try and install them

Would there be any interest for exhaust tips that were done in black Alodine (black chrome) instead of just painting or powder coating them?

Let me know, as I may be able to do this for you.

What is black chrome? I always just thought it was gloss powdercoating when I saw it.

They're just exhaust tips, mostly buried under the bumper - why not just sand them down and give them a few coats of flat or gloss black high temp header/exhaust spray paint like VHT brand available at any local auto parts store ?
