I'm not sure if we're talking about the same front that the lip is going to attach to. I dont' know if the factory aero kit I bought is the same that youre talking about...I think my year used the GT2 front lip. If this website will let me include the info from FVD, here is the air dam I bought: Also, it wasn't Suncoast I ordered from....it was the FVD site itself....I've posted the part number...but it's a GT2 lip. Whether this is the same as the one sold by Sunset I don't know, but I always got the best prices from Sunset...never thought to call them on this...probably cost me extra for not doing so.

Ref: Your question about fitment...under the front lip are a series of tabs. This lip slips into those tabs exactly, then there's only two phillips screws on either side in the wheel sell where the lip wraps around...that's all that holds it on....perfect fit.

boblaz is infamous around these parts
Thanks Chuck that is exactly the type of piece I am looking for. I guess I am just concerned that it will not fit a 2000 996 NB. I think the bumper is different than a Turbo or facelift 996. I will call FVD. THanks again.

Curious as to whether the lip has stayed snugged on securely since you've done the install?
Probably a good idea to order a second as a back-up when you first install?
Thx
Yeah it was totally secure. Sunset actually advised me to NOT use the plastic push mounts. I mean, when you think about it... how are those push mounts going to stay tight at high speeds with the downforce? I didn't trust it and used rough-thread screws / fender washers. beautiful and super easy.
So when I finally installed my GT3 RS bumper I transferred the lip from my stock bumper and used the same screw-on method.

Boblaz- I think $221 sounds about right. I paid $211. Shipping is NOT your friend so try to find it as close to you as possible to keep cost low. Look at my DIY below for the part number, I know it is for post-facelift but you could ask if the part looks similar jsut to be sure.

Here is the link to the DIY- The DIY and lots of pics start on page 2 https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...talled+gt3+lip

And you know, I really don't see why the 02+ GT3 lip would not fit on a pre-2002 996. You would drill your mount holes, align by eye (see my DIY), bolt it up, trim off the excess that protrudes into the fender wells. That's what I did on my '02 non-aero bumper.
