Hi Everyone,
Anyone have any experience with the headers they sell on ebay? They are pretty cheap....around $150.00-$180.00 shipped. Is there a significant gain in HP with this upgrade? $150.00 for headers....what a price. Thinking of buying a set and trying it out. Any comments would be nice...Thanks.

this has been discussed and someone even bought them and reported back etc...

Final verdict...waste of money and can actually MAKE YOUR N/A CAR SLOWER! YMMV!

Kinda like the other thread about modding a N/A 996. Same scenarios...our cars are tuned pretty much max. Not much more you can do without supercharging.

 

Headers do three things on an NA car:
1 - Change the sound
2 - lose low end torque
3 - gain in top end power at WOT right near red line

With forced induction, headers are a whole other story. You will need them - but you will need the right ones - and those right ones would not be for sale on e-Bay for $150.00.

 

for that price, i'd try em, and use the saved money for some before and after dyno runs.

 

Just flush the $150 down the toilet...Its your money, do what you want...just don't expect and serious performance improvement.

 

unless you start doing all your own install... i'd suggest getting something with a little more thoughts.......it can get very expensive,,,,

 

So what headers are recommended if you SC the car?

 

Stock headers. You can gain all the power you need by modifyig what comes after the headers.
